I have tried using this app many times and never get an accurate reading. I would suggest this app but as of recently the app has failed miserably n i wouldn't suggest using this app until they fix the issues at hand n from what ive seen the developers are in no hurry at all to fix the issues. N stops short of the actual speed due to all the glitching issues the app has. Yet the app cannot read connections correctly if its glitching out extremely bad and sticking about 7x during the read.

I re downloaded the app today may 5th to see if they addressed the glitching issues and can clearly see they have not. When running the speed app against theres it was clear this app was not correctly reading my speeds. I uninstalled this app cause it mislead the readings n i had the internet provider come out only for it to show this app was way wrong. It does not read the connectivity of your internet, it also sticks n glitches extremely bad. This is pretty infuriating, and I'm about to ditch the Nest wifi system for something else, probably an Orbi mesh system, unless someone can help me solve this problem.Īt another property I own with 1.2gb Comcast internet and an Orbi wifi mesh system, this never happens. As of a couple weeks ago this app has failed in many ways. Restart the router and all is fine again, until sometime later, it's not. This works fine until sometime later (no set 's somewhat erratic), the wifi download speed is again in the 70-90gb range. After some troubleshooting and lots of back and forth with Cox tech support, we found that if I power down the router, restart it and check the speed again (with the Google home app), the download speeds go back to any where between 750 and 900gb, in line with what I should be getting. For example, the download speed maybe between 70-90gb, while the upload speed is anywhere between 30-40gb.

The problem is that often when I check the wifi speed of the network via the Google home app, the download speed is often 10% of what Cox is providing, even when the upload speed is normal. The point is on the floor above it, and one room over (maybe 25' away). The router is on the ground floor, close to the modem, connected to it with a short Cat 6 ethernet cable. It is set to "bridge mode", so it's not putting out a competing wifi signal. My internet is 1gb service on Cox cable with a Cox supplied Panorama modem. I have a Nest AC2200 mesh system of a router and one point (model # GA00822) in a 2 story, 800 sq ft townhome.
